Implants - contraindications and complications

Contraindications:

·        poor general health of the patient,
·        unhealed teeth
·        periodontal disease or mucosa,
·        inadequate in terms of quality and quantity of alveolar bone, which prevents implant placement (bone formation is possible to the extent where there will be problems with the implant),
·        poor oral hygiene,
·        tumors,
·        AIDS,
·        osteoporosis and other rheumatic diseases,
·        hypertension,
·        diabetes,
·        mental illness,
·        allergies,
·        addictions: alcohol, cigarettes, drugs,
·        certain medications (eg steroids).

Dentists in Poland tell us that implant treatment does not apply to patients under 16 years of age, because of their bone development still continues. It is also not recommended to use implants for the treatment of persons over 65 years of age.

When tooth loss occurs we also loses the alveolar bone. This process may be inhibited only by implanting implants in Poland. Often, however, patients do not know this and so when they decide on implant treatment, they face the problem of too little bone, preventing the establishment of the implant. In such cases, the bone is regenerated using bone grafts from other parts of the body or via the special preparations that stimulate bone growth.

How does a missing tooth make you look older?

Tooth extraction creates unwanted gaps in your smile. Any lack of teeth should be completed as soon as possible, since neglection leads to many serious medical and aesthetic consequences. In the place of a missing tooth you may place a crown or, an implant in Poland.

Such a gap in teeth causes changes in all the remaining teeth. This leads to many undesirable outcomes such as:

·        tilting and shifting of adjacent teeth

·        abrasion and the formation of micro-cracks in the remaining teeth that need to accept and bear the load that before has been distributed over a larger number of points teeth

·        bone loss at the area of tooth loss

·        premature loss of healthy teeth because of long-term bone loss in the tooth gap

·        change in facial features caused by the loss of a tooth and destabilization of other parts of the dental arch: jaws collapse, the nose may become unnaturally longer and closer to the chin, which produces more wrinkles in the neck and mouth.

So if you have a missing tooth don’t wait any longer and make an appointment at your dentist in Poland!

Dental Health: Tooth extraction

Often while visiting your dentist, he or she will tell you need to have a tooth removed. This is mainly due to severe decay.

Before pulling out your tooth, your dentist will put you on anesthesia in the area of the removed tooth. Tooth extraction may be traditional or surgical in more complicated cases.

In the place of a removed tooth you can place an implant, a denture or a bridge. Check prices of dental implants in Budapest.

The recovery period usually lasts a few days. Painkillers should be enough to manage.

After the procedure relax, avoid smoking, don’t lie down flatly as the bleeding may increase. Don’t rub the area around the removed tooth, decrease physical activity to minimum. Remember to brush gently and to eat soft foods for a while.

Sometimes after tooth extraction in Poland the patient may need stitches. Some of them dissolve over time but some need to be removed after a couple of days. Your dentist in Poland will tell you whether you need stiches and how to remove them.

Cosmetic Dentistry

There is no doubt that cosmetic dentistry gaining popularity. Nowadays a dentist can transform almost anyone’s smile into the beautiful one. There are several choices available for cosmetic dentistry and your dentist in Poland will help you choose which one treatment is the best for you.

Teeth Whitening - Also known as “teeth bleaching”. It is usually used to brighten and whiten your teeth from discoloration or stains. This procedure can be done either at your dentist or at home. Not everyone’s teeth can be bleached, so it is very important to check with your dentist first to resolve any dental problems.
Veneers - Veneers are made out of porcelain or composite material. They are individually made and fixed to the front of the tooth. A veneer can be used to treat uneven, discolored teeth, or chipped teeth or in order to cover spaces in between teeth.
Implants - A dental implant is a metal device replacing missing teeth. It's usually made out of titanium and is surgically placed into the jawbone in the place of the missing tooth. An implant is a permanent solution, it acts as an artificial tooth.

Crowns - Crowns are custom made and fit over your whole tooth. Crowns can be used in cosmetic dentistry in Poland to treat teeth that are poorly shaped, broken, chipped, or have had large fillings to cover spaces in between teeth.

Bonding - bonding is the process in which materials in tooth color are bonded to the tooth. This  treatment is used to repair or improve the appearance of a tooth.

Orthodontic Treatment - Braces are not just for kids. More and more adults are seeking treatment from orthodontists for cosmetic purposes.

Dental implants were discovered by accident!

Modern dental implants in Poland as we know them today were actually discovered by accident! In 1952 the Swedish Professor Per-Ingvar Branemark was working on a clinical research project using rabbit bone and titanium metal. The aim of this research was to examine the blood flow within a rabbit bone using an implant titanium chamber.

Once his experiment was done and all the data collected, Professor Branemark tried to remove the implant chamber, only to discover that the rabbit bone had actually bonded with the surface of titanium metal!

For many hundreds of years dentists tried to find a substance which would successfully replace teeth, a substance that could remain permanently fixed in the jaw and wouldn’t be rejected by the body.

The discovery of titanium’s complete biocompatibility led to a breakthrough in dentistry. Nowadays, dentistry in Poland uses thousands of implants every year!
