The exact cause of this dependence isn’t known yet, but other study results suggest that it may be due to the fact that chronic gum disease may affect the development of cardiovascular diseases. Cardiovascular disorders, in turn, result in erectile dysfunction.

Scientists suggest that doctors treating patients with erectile dysfunction should take into account the existence of factors such as periodontitis during  the treatment.
