Christmas goodies versus dental health

dental treatment in Poland

Christmas goodies tempt - they are tasty and beautifully presented. Unfortunatelly, many of them are sweet, and some food contain ingredients unhealthy for teeth. There are some dishes, after eating which particular care of oral hygiene should be taken. So - while taking care of your stomach during Christmas, you must also remember about the parts of your mouth which allow you to enjoy the tasty food, meaning your teeth. Negligence of dental hygiene can quickly lead to the formation of tartar on the teeth, bad breath, and caries attack.

Among the delicacies which are quite dangerous for your teeth are: boiled wheat with poppy seeds and honey, compotes and cakes. On the one hand they are delicious and nutritious and thanks to the fruit filling they provide large amounts of valuable nutrients for health. On the other hand, they are full of the main enemy of teeth, which is sugar. One of the safest food for the health of teeth, which can be found on the Christmas table, is fish - it also provides the ingredients that positively affect the state of periodontal tissues.

Another enemy of healthy teeth is also the frequency of meals. We tend to forget about its destructive strength. During Christmas we eat practically all the time, rr at least more often than normally. This means that the saliva can not keep up with cleaning the mouth and does not effectively restore the proper pH inside the your mouth. It results in an increased activity of caries and enamel defects.

How to cherish the Christmas meals and at the same time take care of your oral hygiene?

First of all, we should brush the teeth, and of course, do it reasonably. You should focus primarily on the precise brushing. You can wash your teeth after the last meal, because no one will go to the bathroom after each of the twelve meals.
